Steeper Roofs and Solar Panel Installation

In some cases, roofs may have a steeper slope than the typical 30° to 40° range. Roof pitches steeper than 40° can present challenges for solar panel installation.

  • Challenges with Steeper Roofs: Steep roofs may make it difficult to install solar panels using standard racking systems. The steep angle could already be higher than the optimal angle for energy production, meaning the roof itself may not need to be tilted further to maximize solar power.

Flush Mounting on Steep Roofs

For roofs with steeper slopes, it's often better to install the solar panels flush against the roof, rather than tilting them. In these cases, the roof’s natural pitch is already sufficient for optimal solar performance, and additional tilting may not provide significant benefits. Flush mounting can be a simple and cost-effective solution for steep roofs.
